Straight Ahead is a amazing casual game for iPad users, especially the young ladys and childs with easy mechanic to learn and exordinary images. You need to help the old gentleman safely arrive his destination by preventing the engine of his car from being attacked by the little monsters.

In this game, we try to combine magnet principle with spin control .Feature of each level will change depends on the outside environment on the journey. 

 

 

And in each level, we made something new for players to learn. In Level2, snow will block your eyesight and you need to keep rotating in order to prevent engine from frozing; In Level3 and 4, the magnet will rotate and move respectively; In the last level , which is a infinite one, combines both rotate and move mechanic, giving players a chanllenge to survive longer.

 

 

In each level, there are various backdrops fit to eah scheme with abundant details.

 

 

This game was made for Dare to be digital2013. Before the first collection, a plannning was made after discussion for several times and repeated revisions. Having passed the collections, we were given a chance to fly to Dundee to make our design come true in two months.

 

 

We suffered several times revision and extreme difficulties during two months. Then we first experience a ProtoPlay. We received a lot appriciation from the players, but also found numerous problems. In the end, we got several meaningful criticization from judges.

 

 

 

 

 

In StraightAhead, I took responsibility for part of planning and half programming. I played an important role in deciding the core mechanics and making the level design. Besides, as a programmmer, I implemented half function of the game, including two level and the feedback of combo and collision.

              One of menbers in other team are playing our game on Ipad.

In StraightAhead, we design rich feedbacks: the monster have different expression in different situation and each collision has an animation. Also, there are combo and "Almost there!" animation to tell players the game state.
